Power Given To The Church

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-42

Focus Verse: Acts 2:36  "So let it be clearly known by everyone in Israel that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified to be both Lord and Messiah".

As we finish this series of devotions on "Christian Community" we want to look at the power that God is giving to the church.  I have traveled to areas and have seen the affects by natural disasters like hurricanes.  It is amazing to see what the power of the wind can do, and the damage it can inflict.  To be able to blow down houses and uproot very large trees.  But I have also seen how the power of such an event can bring people together in a new way.  Distress brought out the best in some of these victims of the storm.  People began caring for neighbors whom days before would not even speak to each other.

The first-century church also experienced an incredible supernatural force.  Our passage also describes this as a powerful wind that brought people together in a new way.  But this time it was not a destructing wind.  They stood in one accord and the Holy Spirit empowered the Christian Community to change the world for Christ by sharing the Gospel.  Everyone heard the Gospel in their own language by the power of God.  Are you allowing this same power that God offers to work in your life to unite the Body of Christ and change your community for Him?

Camp testimonies

The teachers of the camp in Kenya read letters of testimonies from the children who attended.  Please enjoy the blessings of hearing God be praised!
