March trip preparations

Pray for Bobby as he prepares for his March Kenya trip. He will be having meetings with Bethesda Faith Ministries board. (A board that was started to coordinate the ministry in the Lake Victoria area.) They will discuss the design and construction of a guest house, creating a Bible Institute for pastors and the vision of a library on Mfangano Island. Bobby will also visit schools and hold some open air evangelism events. When you disciple a community for Christ, you impact a country.

Interlocking Ministries Empowers Widows

Widows are at a disadvantage; they are vulnerable to the fishermen because they need fish to feed their children and the men demand sex as an exchange, spreading HIV. Interlocking Ministries widow projects seek to empower the women. Within the last year, Interlocking ministries has built and stocked a poultry egg farm with 100 layers, (Picture is of the chicken nesting boxes before installation.) bringing many widows out of that cycle. They now respect themselves and have the respect of the communities. We also hosted classes in baking items that are easily sold in the market. Please pray for Interlocking Ministries and the widows. Consider how you can help. We are making progress!

Hens and Widows

Page Johnson is teaching the veterinarian Tobias and pastor Eliazar about chickens. Caring for laying hens is a good way for the widows of the church to employ themselves and provide for their children. Interlocking Ministries gave a grant for them to start a poultry project with 100 chicks in July. They decided to plant a garden nearby as well. The chickens should lay their eggs any day now!

Pray for Children's Bible Camps, Kenya

Will you pray for the students that are signing up for December Children's Bible Camps, Kenya? Will you pray for the team that will be teaching there?

Public Professions

During the last trip we had 1,248 people who stood and publicly professed that they were receiving Christ. Would you praise God with us? Yes, we were the messengers, you were the prayers, some were givers, but it is only God who can call a heart to Him. Enjoy the photo that gives some faces to that number. Pray for them as they grow spiritually.

Marriage Conference: Well Received

We felt lead to conduct the first ever marriage conference in September for the Kenyan couples.  We were a little apprehensive about teaching this because, African culture is different from American in regards to marriage.  We knew God was with us because of the prayers from many of you.  The conference, with almost 100 in attendance, went so much better the we ever expected.  They enjoyed teaching on Biblical marriage, the needs of a spouse, finance, handling conflict, family planning, etc.   The Kenyan pastors opened for Q&A many times and the discussion was lively!  We could see a real difference in the couples that attended and could hear them discussing it daily for the next week.  They are already planning on us conducting another conference next year.

Next mission trip is coming up December 1st to host the camps for 800 kids.  We need prayer for Bobby’s preparations and those that will travel with them.  Your donations to Interlocking Ministries will support the evangelism and discipleship needed in Kenya.  Thank you for being generous!
