Hope for Kenya

God Loves, We Love
While the main goal of Interlocking Ministries remains to alleviate spiritual poverty in Kenya with evangelism and discipleship, we can not deny the need to assist with physical needs as we have funds available.  With these funds, we give hope and opportunity, not just money.

“But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?” 1 John 3:17

Women’s Baking Class
The women’s baking class was sponsored by Interlocking Ministries.  The women, most of them widows, did not know how to bake.  They only knew basic cooking.  Chef Jerimiah teaches them how to make chapati (flat bread) and mandazi (fried dough).  These can be made for their families, but also sold in the market if the women need to earn some money for their families.

Poultry Project Makira
Working widow, Judith, is the chairperson of the group of about 30 widows in Makira. Makira has the most oppressed widows that we have seen and we are partnering with the new church there.  She is happy to report to her “office” to care for the chicks dressed in a lab coat. These 100 chicks bring hope to this group of widows. There is a hope of provision for them and their children, self worth, and a future. They thank God and Interlocking Ministries for the financial grant and the opportunity to put their hands to good use. This is their business and they are learning how to use some of the income to reinvest in the business. May God bless them and the chicks.

Educational Scholarship
At Interlocking Ministries we believe that God would have us to do more to help our Kenyan brothers and sisters in a physical way.  There is a saying that goes like this, "you can give without loving, but you can't love without giving."  We have started an educational scholarship program among 35 schools in Kenya.  280 children each year will be selected for academic performance and receive some assistance.  Keep in mind that for the price of a gourmet coffee latte in America, a child in Kenya can pay school fees for three months.  This program will also help bring awareness through the schools of Interlocking Ministries and the message of Christ.  We would love for you or your school to partner with us in this program.

God has continued to work in Kenya in a greater way with each passing year since we started going in 2001.  Each trip brings hundreds who come to know Christ and hundreds more making a commitment to follow Him with sexual purity.  This is beginning to have a profound impact on the Lake Victoria region of western Kenya.  I'm looking forward to the day that we will plant a Christian flag on the highest mountain on Mfangano Island and claim this land for Christ.

Please continue in prayer for the Kenya team (Bobby, Page, Tamara, Ron & Edna) departing September 14th.
